    Hello,

I’m using a custom font on my site. I followed this tutorial: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-local-fonts/ to upload Muli font.

I have been using Classic Editor all this time. Recently I switched to Gutenberg and I noticed that the editor is showing all the text in bold: https://tinyurl.com/y953zycg

Now I am not able to differentiate between the normal text and bold text because everything is bold in the editor. Though on the front-end it loads fine.

I checked the CSS through Inspect Element and I couldn’t find the font-weight property anywhere.

But, the font-family is Muli: https://tinyurl.com/y8hwvwqe

If I uncheck it, the editor starts showing normal font-weight: https://tinyurl.com/y7286a5q

So, tell me a way to remove the custom font from Gutenberg Editor or guide me to add normal font-weight to the custom font in the Gutenberg editor.

    Regards

    Hi there,

Is there a specific page I should be looking at?

Looks like the home page is using Gutenberg.

I’m not sure why the editor would show the text as bold. Does the same issue happen if you use a Google font?

    Hello,

The problem is only on the backend. I mean in the Gutenberg. On the front-end, everything is fine.

I changed the font to Google fonts and now everything is italic. So, everything is either italic or bold, but not normal.

I guess the only way is to stop Gutenberg from using the font I am using on my site and set a default font.

What if you disable all plugins including GP Premium?

    Same issue?

I deactivated all the plugins, and the result is still the same.

What if you switch to a default twenty series theme?

I switched to Twenty Twenty theme and now the fonts are back to normal: https://tinyurl.com/ydb896zv

So, GeneratePress is causing the issue.

That’s very unlikely – we would have a lot of reports on an issue this obvious.

Can you send me the dashboard access to take a look?

You can send the dashboard access using Account Issue here:

Can you disable all plugins except GP Premium?

I cannot do that for you.

Is it okay if I clone the site and do all the changes there? This process can take time and I don’t want live site’s visitors to notice anything πŸ™‚

Sorry do I have to do anything to make the issue appear?

Just disabled all plugins and edit the front page and this is what I see:

This is how it looks on my end: https://tinyurl.com/ycwmx9c9

    Everything is styled italic
