Hello,
I’m using a custom font on my site. I followed this tutorial: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-local-fonts/ to upload Muli font.
I have been using Classic Editor all this time. Recently I switched to Gutenberg and I noticed that the editor is showing all the text in bold: https://tinyurl.com/y953zycg
Now I am not able to differentiate between the normal text and bold text because everything is bold in the editor. Though on the front-end it loads fine.
I checked the CSS through Inspect Element and I couldn’t find the
font-weight
property anywhere.But, the
font-family
is Muli: https://tinyurl.com/y8hwvwqeIf I uncheck it, the editor starts showing normal
font-weight
: https://tinyurl.com/y7286a5qSo, tell me a way to remove the custom font from Gutenberg Editor or guide me to add normal font-weight to the custom font in the Gutenberg editor.
Regards
May 5, 2020 at 9:15 am #1270804LeoStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
Is there a specific page I should be looking at?
Looks like the home page is using Gutenberg.
I’m not sure why the editor would show the text as bold. Does the same issue happen if you use a Google font?
May 5, 2020 at 9:55 am #1270870Ritesh SainiHello,
The problem is only on the backend. I mean in the Gutenberg. On the front-end, everything is fine.
I changed the font to Google fonts and now everything is italic. So, everything is either italic or bold, but not normal.
I guess the only way is to stop Gutenberg from using the font I am using on my site and set a default font.
May 5, 2020 at 9:58 am #1270884LeoStaffCustomer SupportWhat if you disable all plugins including GP Premium?
Same issue?
May 5, 2020 at 10:13 am #1270912Ritesh SainiI deactivated all the plugins, and the result is still the same.
May 5, 2020 at 10:28 am #1270927LeoStaffCustomer SupportWhat if you switch to a default twenty series theme?
May 5, 2020 at 10:36 am #1270936Ritesh SainiI switched to Twenty Twenty theme and now the fonts are back to normal: https://tinyurl.com/ydb896zv
So, GeneratePress is causing the issue.
May 5, 2020 at 10:52 am #1270956LeoStaffCustomer SupportThat’s very unlikely – we would have a lot of reports on an issue this obvious.
Can you send me the dashboard access to take a look?

May 5, 2020 at 11:23 am #1271001Ritesh SainiIs it okay if I clone the site and do all the changes there? This process can take time and I don’t want live site’s visitors to notice anything π
May 5, 2020 at 11:25 am #1271005LeoStaffCustomer SupportYup that would be the best. Thanks!
