    I got this resolved by adding some CSS as follows:

    .category .entry-meta {
    display: none;
    }

    Thanks for your assistance – we can consider this case resolved.

    Ah yeah that works as well, although it still keeps the categories on the page source code.

    Removing it through the customizer is the better solution.

    Unless there is an SEO issue with having the categories still in the source code, that’s fine with me. But do let me know if you think this negatively impacts SEO.
