Customizing footer widgets

Hi Tom,

I’ve tried using the customizer for footer widgets, but it only allows me to change the background colour of all widgets the same. Is there a way to individually change the background colour of each widget, or use a background image? My site is http://www.bendigodogtraining.com.au/wordpress.

Here is a link to the sort of thing I would like to do: http://www.dancelovers.com.au. The three sections immeditately below the parralax header is what I would like to acheive. Is this possible with the footer widgets, or is there another way to do this?
