custom sidebar not working

Hi,

Help please:

I Have installed Custom Side bar plugin and set relevant theme sidebar to allow to be replaced.

Have setup the custom sidebar and assigned to category of posts I desire it show on and .... no custom sidebar showing - cache cleared...still nothing, tried across a couple of browser types.

Any ideas or suggestions please?

Are you just trying to show different widgets on different pages?

I've never used a custom sidebar plugin (link?) - but I usually go for one of these:

If you're using Jetpack already, they have an awesome "Widget Visibility" module which allows you to choose to show widgets on certain pages.

This plugin also works quite well: https://wordpress.org/plugins/display-widgets/

Hi,

Sorry it's taken me a couple of days to reply - and thanks for your inital response!

I'm attempting to have a different sidebar show, in a different category of posts, from the usual sitewide option.

I'll take a look at one of the plugins you mention and come back, if I have any further issues thank you again.!
