I am using custom post type more now, with the Custom Post Type UI plugin, also adding custom fields.
The usually want specific templates for the new type, its archive and taxonomies.
I also use both GP and the Divi theme.
With Divi there is now a template option for custom post types and fields.
I have also tried Elementor with GP, and with that I can get a custom template
With Divi and Elementor there is the expense of code overhead and a ton of stuff I dont use.
I like using GP, GP Gutenberg blocks and Gutenberg as it results in a faster website. But I am missing a way to setup a template for the custom post types and fields without coding using the Gutenberg approach.
There are few if any plugins that address this properly. Pods and Toolset neither appear to do what the two above do.Will you please consider a template builder for custom post types, archives and taxonomies that supports custom fields, that uses your generate blocks and Gutenberg to create the templates, either as a core part of Generatepress or as a plugin?
Or an alternative approach.
Thanks

Wow, that looks very promising, uncanny how close this is to my request. Impressive, and thanks.
Will it handle custom fields?
I am seriously considering setting up yet another test site and installing the alpha version for a play. I will make sure I have all the regular plugins I tend to use for a non-ecommerce site.
Looking forward to the full release.March 12, 2021 at 5:46 pm #1693108David

Thansks. Will it be possible to add custom field data as a dynamic element in a text block in the template? Although I do dabble a bit with php, and good with css, so adding manually initially should be fine, but not as user friendly.March 13, 2021 at 9:41 am #1693892Tom
Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperDynamic data is only supported in the Headline and Button blocks in GenerateBlocks at this time. It won’t work with the standard paragraph block.
