Mel
Hi, I would like to edit the template for my custom posts and their archive page. I am using the MyPet template.
I went to Customizing > Layout > Blog
Is says:
“This page is using a Content Template Element. Some of the options below may not apply.”
“This page is using a Page Hero Element. Some of the options below may not apply.”
I tried to edit Archive settings in Customizing > Layout > Blog, but they don’t apply to/change the archive page.
“Featured” Images settings apply to Posts and Pages (my custom posts, FYI: I don’t have a normal blog with standard posts on the site).
I went to Appearance > Elements, created a copy if the “Archives” template, called it “Archives Aktuelles” and changed the settings there.
But the changes don’t apply to the archives page. Could please let me know how to do this.
I would also like to use/create/apply a Content Template Element for the single custom posts themselves. Could I also do this? If yes, could you please let me know how? I would like to add a date and also reduce the space between heading and content.
Many thanks!
MelPS: I would like to send you 2 screen pics. Please let me know how to do this. Thanks.

StaffCustomer SupportHi there,
the site uses GP Elements for the content template and page hero:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-content-template/
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/
Elements allow you to change a theme template ( eg. Content template ) or insert parts into the template ( eg. Page hero )
They are found in Appearance > Elements, or when viewing a page shortcut to any elements on that page are in the Admin Bar > Elements MenuLet us know what changes you want to make ?
And yes you can create a content template for single post. Have a view of the docs above to get a handle on them and let me know.
Sharing screenshots, you need to provide a URL to those images whether they be stored in your Media Library, Google Drive etc.

Hi,
Thanks for your helpful reply. I only want to top align the text content on pages and posts with the featured image on the right and reduce the space between content and heading. So I won’t need to create a content template for it.It seems pages and blog posts don’t use a Content Element.
I set:
Appearance > Customize > Layout > Container
set Content Padding Top to 0Appearance > Customize > Layout > Header
set Content Padding Bottom to 0Page Header Element has 0 margin and padding at the bottom.
Please have a look at my site, thanks.

StaffCustomer SupportTo reduce the space between the title and content, remove this CSS:
#content.site-content { margin-top: 20px; }
