Can you link us to your site?

Do you want the off-canvas menu only on desktop, and use the normal primary navigation on mobile and tablet?

    The website is https://biancahoeltje.de

My intention is to use the Off Canvas menu as a hidden menu on both desktop and mobile.

When a visitor clicks the menu item “Member area” the Off Canvas menu should open and display another menu for members including the log-in form.

It worked with the desktop view as I intented but on mobile view the (hamburger icon)MENU worked as the Off Canvas menu directly.

David’s solution worked fine so far in terms of this functionality but now I am seeing both member area buttons. The original Off Canvas as well as David’s button.

I did not expect this to be so complicated as I thought the Off Canvas menu would behave the same on desktop as well as on mobile. Maybe I rethink this functionality.

I don’t seem to see the issue you described, when I view your site on mobile, the hamburger opens the primary navigation, if I click the Member area menu item, it opens the off-canvas menu, I shot a small clip:

If this is not what you see on your end, can you make sure all cache is cleared?

After David’s intervention it works as intented but on desktop you should see two buttons “Mitgliederbereich”.

Oh I thought the issue was on mobile, so it is on desktop?

If that’s the case, check the step 2 here: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/custom-off-canvas-menu-icon/#post-2322168

Try change the hide-on-mobile to hide-on-desktop.

The issue was first on mobile. David’s solution created another issue on desktop.

Which you solved by you suggestion.

    Thank you very much!!

    Hi David,

Apologies for responding to an old topic, but wondered if there’s an easy way to use the same custom off canvas menu icon for tablet/mobile as well as desktop?

I tried modifying the snippet you provided earlier in this topic but couldn’t figure out what I needed.

I have Off Canvas Panel set to On in my customiser settings (eg. Desktop and mobile)

    Any help very much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Greg

    Hi there,

thats should apply to all OFC menu icons – is it possible to see your site ?
If need be, raise a new topic where you can share a site URL in the private info field.
