Custom html widget not showing on the front end

Hi - I have two custom HTML widgets that don't show on the front end of my site but are visible in Wordpress dashboard.

I'm trying to add them to my sidebar and I added them by opening a custom HTML widget and then pasting the code provided.

One is an Amazon banner (Which does show up when posted inside a post). One is a buy me a coffee button - the title for this does show up. Both are iframe, but I also tried the amazon banner in javascript.

I'm not sure if it's a theme conflict or I'm just doing something wrong - but they both do show in my dashboard.

The buy me a coffee one has been like this for months (I just never got round to fixing it), the amazon one I just tried to add today.

The site I need help for is differentville.com - the sidebar is on my blog posts (I don't have one on my home page). You'll see the 'If we helped you' today title where the Buy me a Coffee button should be. The amazon banner just doesn't show at all.

I'm running WordPress 5.7 - and obviously Generate Press theme - I have pro.

Any help appreciated. I am not hugely technical so if you can help please try and explain any suggestions as simply as possible.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

I've checked your site and I don't see the iframe on sidebar.

Can you provide the code directly from the source(the instructions would help as well)?

Also, perhaps you can provide temporary site login credentials to check things.

You can use the private information text field to provide the details. Thank you.

Hi Elvin - I can't seem to set up a temporary login without an email for you? I've got to log off for half an hour now but I will look again shortly.

I have sent the iframe code to you.

I agree you can't see it - that's the issue!!! I can see it in dashboard but not on the live site. Will get back to you ASAP with the login.

Hi there,

can you temporarily disable WP Rocket and clear any other caches.
I believe the problem is WP Rocket is deferring Javsascripts and the advert code needs to be fired before the document load is closed.

Let us know.

That did it - I had tried turning it off, but I didn't clear the cache while it was off (I have a separate browser that I only used for checking pages so thought that would pick up changes). It's fixed now though - and I know what to do if it happens again. Thanks - appreciate the help.

You're welcome!
