Custom Footer with Block Element Adds Space

Hi,
I love the new Block element and GenerateBlocks; I'm slowly trying to switch over some sites that I had created with page builders, so I'm grateful for your work on this!
There's added space when I add a custom footer (created using Template 5 from the GB Template Library), and I can't seem to delete it. As far as I can see, there's not an added paragraph block or anything. I can delete it by adding a considerable amount of (bottom) padding (140 pixels), but I'm not sure if that's the right solution. Out of the box (prior to my changes), this template isn't like this as you can see on another page, but this is how it appears after my edits.
I saw this forum inquiry, but I don't think it applies to my question.

The space is there just because you haven't had enough content in the page, if you put in more content, then the space will be gone.
