I have added a custom field labeled 'description' on my post and I would like to know if there is any way I could display it on category page under title instead of excerpt from blog post.
It should look like something like the image below where 'What makes...' is page description and not an excerpt.
Any reason why you're not just using the "Excerpt" meta box when creating your posts? That way it will all happen for you automatically.
If you don't see the Excerpt meta box, click "Screen Options" at the top right of your page and look for the checkbox.
I wasn't aware of excerpt feature, it works perfectly.
