Custom category and widget on homepage Info child theme

You’ll need to add parameters to populate the Query Loops depending on your preference.

Sorry but can you be more specific about the steps because I don't understand your answer well

1. Click on the Query Loop block from the List view.

2. Then click Add Parameter:

3. Select Taxonomies from the query parameter drop-down list.

4. Then select Categories or Tags.
