I’m considering using GeneratePress to redesign my site. The theme description says it’s W3C Markup Validated, so I was disappointed to find that it doesn’t also pass the W3C CSS validation.
The errors are for asterisks before property names, which I gather is a hack for Internet Explorer 7 and below but uses invalid CSS. For example:
Parse Error *display: inline;
Is there anything you could do differently to make your CSS fully valid?
I wanted to add that in there for people who want their site to display properly with older versions of IE.
Having it in there won’t actually affect the performance or your website at all – but it will make your users using old versions of IE happy, as everything will display properly.
At some point, I will be removing compatibility with IE7, but I’m not sure if it’s time yet.
