CSS NooB and custom position of Social Media icon

Hi Tom,
I have been hunting on this support site for basics of CSS so I can understand how/where to put your suggestions. Can you give me a link to understand?
The other item is my client wants the FaceBook icon on the header - the top right side. How do you suggest I accomplish that?

There are no basic CSS tutorial on this site but there are lots on Google.

As for the icon, you can try using Tom's lightweight social icons in the header widget:
