CSS for footer widgets no longer doing anything (solved)

Hi there,

since editing a page today with Elementor I'm seeing a very strange issue. My CSS for the footer widget (which consists of a Mailchimp signup form) is no longer responding. In paricular:

.inside-footer-widgets {
    text-align: center;
}

span {
    margin-left: -5px;
    margin-right: 5px;
}

Does anyone have a clue why that is?

EDIT / SOLVED: there was a CSS element prior to those CSS elements that was disturbing them.
