In GP themes, why is the CSS content code for left double quotation mark not rendering as specified in the Unicode Specs?

its a legacy style, you will see a similar design on the TwentyNineteen ( and older core themes ).
Other sites add their own custom styling. Which you can do ( have done ) with some CSS.
So, with a GP theme, I'm stuck with the crappy old "legacy" styling? The Genesis Framework got rid of that years ago.
No - you can add your own custom CSS to overwrite that.
We have to consider updating styles that have been present for many years will affect 1000's of existsing sites.
Let me know if you need a hand with the CSS.
