Hi,
I want to create a thumbnail like this website:
An image with text in it like the country name and some text under it. How can I achieve this?
Yours sincerely,
Michael
Hi Michael,
To clarify, are you referring to this?: https://share.getcloudapp.com/Wnu7JP6Q
Also, will this be a static element or dynamic (queried posts with different data - images, countries, etc as such: https://share.getcloudapp.com/NQulrGAz)?
Basically, you’ll need a setup like this for both, image-wise: https://share.getcloudapp.com/v1uO28BY
The Container Block would need to have a bottom padding and a background image set: https://share.getcloudapp.com/eDuXBJKe
Then, the Headline Block could be setup like this: https://share.getcloudapp.com/Qwun01Jx
Hope this helps!
Hi Fernando,
I'm more referring to this: https://share.getcloudapp.com/NQulrGAz
It is not necessary for the block with the name on the image to be on the page itself, just the thumbnail showing the latest posts.
Or is that already possible with the steps above?
Michael
I see. You can do that with a Query Loop Block through GenerateBlocks. The steps above should be applicable if you want that design on a Query Loop Block.
See here for reference: https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/query-loop-overview/
It’s available for GB version 1.5.0 which will be released soon. Probably within 10 days according to our team. The test version is available here though: https://generateblocks.com/generateblocks-1-5-dynamic-data-query-loops-image-blocks/
Hope this clarifies!
Hi Fernando,
Now i have this:
https://vakantieparel.nl/nu-lekker-5-dagen-chillen-in-het-zand-op-texel/
But on the homepage there's no picture under 'recent gevonden parels':
https://vakantieparel.nl/
How can i fix this?
Can you try using a GB Query Loop Block instead? It seems that you’re using a WordPress Block currently.
Here’s a screen recording showing how to add a Query Loop Block: https://share.getcloudapp.com/QwunEZJn
Hope this helps!
Yes thanks!
You’re welcome Michael! Hope it goes well!
Hi Fernando,
I have another question.
I would like to have pagination at the bottom of the query loop on the home page.
When you click on 'next' for example, you will then jump from the homepage to an archive page here you will find the following row of messages. And so on that automatically create pages if the number in the query loop for that page is exceeded.
Can you help me with that?
Yours sincerely,
Michael
To add pagination on your Query Loop Block, you may click the + icon in the toolbar. See: https://share.getcloudapp.com/mXuxXy19
Thanks!
Is it also possible that it jumps to an 'archive' page with all messages instead of that it continues to count on the homepage?
Hi Michael,
You can add a buttons block below the query loop block, and add the archive page link to it.
Thanks Ying!
Now i have in my queryloop as header 'excerpt' it took al the text from the blog post. I only want the H2 and header, is that possible?
Or maby is it possible to remove the dots in the title, i choose 2 words for the excerpt.
And i want one word a different color in the query titel, is that possible?

Do you mean you don't want the Spanje *****? If so, you can just delete this headline block.
If you want to remove the ..., make theUse default more link option is toggled for the headline block (excerpt), then go to customizer > layout > blog, leave the Read more label field blank.
And i want one word a different color in the query titel, is that possible?
No, it's not.
