    Hi there,

Im having issues with a few elements im creating. Im not sure if its a GP issue or BG.

Basically, the layout is being wierd when I assign Elements > Block (using content template).

Case Study CPT Archive looks fine:

Events CPT looks fine, apart from the actual thing being repeated?

Blog Archive Just looks plain strange and messed up.

Im not sure what im doing wrong??

    Rob.

    Hi Rob,

I think you’ve built the content template incorrectly.

In the block element – content template, the only thing in the content area should be just this:
    https://www.screencast.com/t/6o2cYoq2

The Upcoming events/Case Studies/Our Blog should be in another block element - page hero.

Here’s more info about the content template:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-content-template/

    and page hero:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/

Watching the videos attached in the documentation should help!

    Hi Ying,

Sorry, I’m returning to GP and GB and its updated so much, i forget how to do things properly.

OK, so ive managed to get the Blog working correctly by following the guide

However now my events CPT archive is not working, and the layout is messed up again.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Rob.

And re-doing the case study archive is doing the same as events.

    Hi there,

you need to enable Columns for Custom Post Types, see here:

    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-columns-in-the-blog/#adding-columns-to-your-custom-post-type

    Thanks David,

That has sort of fixed the issue,

Now I am getting full width (not sure where to sort this). And also a duplicated button, which is not in the Block.

Both are full width, and just the Case study archive as the extra button

Those archives have been set to full-width-content, do you have any Layout Elements ( in Appearance > Elements )? As that is where that would have been defined.

For the Read More – edit the element, select the excerpt and in the sidebar options make sure you do not have the Read More option enabled there
