Cover Image with Text and button

Trying to figure out how I can add Text and a clickable button to my cover image similar to <a https://brobbq.com who is using GP. I am hoping there is a video out there or someone can explain how to make this happen. I am new to WordPress but I am getting the hang of GP in building my site. Appreciate anyone's help on this.
