Copying hyperlinks into the wordpress editor not working

Hey guys,
Hope you're all doing well.
We have yet a weird thing going on with our site. We typically write all our copy in a word document (where we add relevant hyperlinks) and then we copy the text into the wordpress editor. This usually also correctly copies the hyperlinks into the editor and all we have to do is make sure they open in a new tab or make them nofollow or whatever.
But after the last Wordpress update, copying links into the editor no longer works at all. The word that should have the hyperlink looks like it is hyperlinked but when you open it up the link is gone. Also, if you update the link, it auto updates all the other hyperlinks in the paragraph to the same link.
Super weird. Have you seen anything like this before / know how to fix it?

i just tested this ie. copy content with hyperlinks from Word and pasted it in - and they worked ok. Might want to try stripping all formatting from the word content - in case a format is affecting the markup
Thanks David, I have just tried that but no luck unfortunately. Any other ideas?
Try using a different browser in private/incognito mode to eliminate any browser extensions.
Or check for plugin conflicts by temporarily disabling all other plugins.
