Cookie settings for domain and subdomain

hi there,
i read that general cookies are set by some themes via the functions.php
So - as i am trying to have the same cookie set for a domain (mydomain.com) and a subdomain (shop.mydomain.com) - so visitors only have to agree to cookie consent once - and couldn't find anything by searching the files myself - i wanted to ask if you got a tip for me - or how gp handles cookies.

I think that's just for some themes.
GP doesn't actually handle cookies at all.
