Mario
Hi,
I’m moving a site over from thrive architect over to Generatepress/blocks. After installing Generatepress and blocks i removed the trive theme builder and architect… After that i noticed that the content body text, used headings and images are still reasonably intact. Can i just re-align my images and hit update or do i need to use the Convert to blocks option that appears on screen now and then?
I asume i will have to click convert to blocks first but after doing so the very first piece in the content, which is a dynamically pulled authorname and last updated date which was created in Thrive theme builder, disspears and leaves a blank space where this “block” used to be.
How do i go about this? I am unable to delete the block cause prior to converting to blocks there is no remove block option and after clicking the convert to blocks option the “block” dissapears like i said…
Thanks,

StaffCustomer SupportHi Mario,
I don’t believe there is an easy way to convert this unfortunately. That’s the downside of using a page builder.
You would basically need to rebuild everything from scratch using GenerateBlocks.

Hi Leo,
Do you mean i need to delete the content from each post and then copy the old body content text from somewhere, open a new block and paste it into this new “clean” block? (is that the only way to get rid of traces of the architect pagebuilder perhaps?)
And also reupload images into a new fresh block, add headings etc?
The posts seem reasonably intact, is Convert to blocks not sufficient with old pagebuilder content?
Thanks

Hi Mario,
I tried to replicate using Thrive Architect creating a Post, and then converting to blocks after switching to GenerataPress Theme and adding the other plugins.
See: https://share.getcloudapp.com/geudn7y6
Also see: https://share.getcloudapp.com/qGurkbqj
After converting to Blocks: https://share.getcloudapp.com/v1uLZ9Pm
As shown, Thrive Architect Blocks turned into WordPress core blocks, and this is okay to use since our products work with WordPress core.
Furthermore, in my case, the dynamic blocks (author text) just turned into a WordPress paragraph Block.
If everything is in tact, and they’re all WordPress core blocks, I believe you won’t need to recreate everything. You’ll just need to recreate the Blocks that aren’t working anymore like Thrive shortcodes.
Hope this helps! 🙂
