    Hi

How can I convert external all existing links on my website into nofollow and all future links also that I want to add untill unless I specify them as dofollow.

    I don’t want to use a plugin.

    thanks

    Hi there,

The theme itself doesn’t have anything built-in for this and doesn’t have control for this at all.

I would recommend going with a plugin solution:
    https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-nofollow-all-external-links-in-wordpress/
    https://kinsta.com/knowledgebase/add-nofollow-links-in-wordpress/
    https://www.greengeeks.ca/tutorials/article/how-to-add-nofollow-link-in-wordpress-and-why/

If not you’d need to hire a developer to code a custom solution for you.

I am missing some detail as I seem to remember Yoast allowing this function.

I have Linkwhisper but how does one make a link DOFOLLOW. I am not seeing any obvious option in WordPress/GP.

GP or WP doesn’t have this kind of function built in.
You will need a plugin or custom coding to achieve this.

    Some general feedback.

We need less themes and more of this basic stuff available in a theme we’ve bet longterm to grow with.

More plugins are not useful to sites who are trying to maintain their speeds.

    Thanks.
