[Support request] Controlling when the main nav sticky menu appears?

I’ve gone through all Support topics/replies involving sticky-related stuff, and while there’s lots of queries and solutions addressing the mobile context, there isn’t much about the desktop side.

My testing shows the sticky menu only appears once the page content title scrolls off the screen, which can be quite a distance from the time the real main nav bar scrolls out of view.

Is there a way to configure the sticky menu to appear as soon as the main nav goes off screen? Or, better yet the sticky menu takes over as soon as the top of the main nav menu reaches the “virtual top” of the screen (which will depend on whether the Admin toolbar is showing or not.
