Continue background picture into header

This isn't an actually problem. I was just wanting to know if something could be done and if so how I would go about it. I'm including a picture of my home page. I was wondering if it would be possible to have the smoke that is behind my picture continue up into my header. Kind of like it is one big picture or close to it.

I need to play with this a bit but I think it is just what I was looking for. I will post back with my results.

Will this allow me to add the smoke background that I added behind my picture to behind my site logo, primary menu, and site title? I looked at it but wasn't able to tell.

That option basically floats your header on top of the below content.

So if your below content has the smoke background, your header will sit on top of it :)

hmmm... really need to use the merge header in this case?
what if just make the header transparent and apply the image to the body? think i've done it this way on some occasion - should work...

I figure out how to do either of these things correctly. That is merge thing so I can apply the smoke background or make the header transparent and add the smoke to the background.

That would definitely work as well, dasigna :)
