Yes the photo shows in the logo field.
Should I delete the Topbar that housed the photo? Might that make a difference?

Any caching plugins or server cache?
Did you disable the header by any chance?
I did send the Disable Header Element to Trash. That really messed things up. See private area. Don’t know what server cache is or where to find it. Plugins only GP Premium and GB.
Try removing the header padding:
https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-padding/And change the header background color to transparent so the body background color shows.
