Contact Form 7 / Generate Press Form Padding

Hi everyone,
I am having some issues with styling my forms with Contact Form 7, which I know is a well-recommended plugin. I have tried a number of CSS inserts to create padding around my form fields, but nothing seems to be working. I even tried the Contact Form 7 Style plugin, but there is still no padding in my fields, even using their templates. I feel as though something in GeneratePress must be overwriting the styles I am trying to input, but I am not sure where to start. Any thoughts?
