Wow earth to me congratulations Tom and the entire GP team on GenerateBlocks!! I must have missed the announcements, this looks really exciting.

I have some questions about GenerateBlocks before diving into it.

    1. Does GB require using gutenberg or does it also work without it?

1a. If it requires gutenberg, isn’t gutenberg bloated and laggy? I’ve shut it off all sites since day 1 so if they improved it I wouldn’t know.

    2. While obviously this is a different tool than Elementor, if I’m jumping over from Elementor (and previously X Theme back when it worked) will the learning curve be easy? I just want something that works well out of the box….which based on most of my experience with GP and Tom, means this should do as well. But I do recall the lightweight grid needing a little brain space to figure out – doable, but in my busy-ness, not always so easy to find the time.

Any thoughts? Or links to sites that delve into these and other questions?
Super excited for you guys, congratulations!!

    Hi Arthur,

    1. Does GB require using gutenberg or does it also work without it?

Yes – GB is a block plugin so it requires the Gutenberg/block editor to work.

1a. If it requires gutenberg, isn’t gutenberg bloated and laggy? I’ve shut it off all sites since day 1 so if they improved it I wouldn’t know.

We don’t think it’s bloated and laggy.

    2. While obviously this is a different tool than Elementor, if I’m jumping over from Elementor (and previously X Theme back when it worked) will the learning curve be easy?

Tough for me to comment if the learning curve will be easy for you or not. Some people find it Gutenberg easy to use and some people take a while to get used to it.

The only way you will know is to dive into it and see how it goes.

The template library in GenerateBlocks pro certainly makes things easier:

And we’ve been adding videos in the channel as well:

Docs also have lots of good knowledge in there:

Awesome. Congrats again. Next marketing site I build I’ll have to give it a whirl.
