Hi Tom,

did you already check whether GeneratePress and the GP add-ons are compatiblw ith PHP version 7?

Best regards

M.

Absolutely, this site is actually running on php7 :)

Hi, recently bought the premium version and I'm looking in to changing my hosting to include PHP7, however having run a few tests on general compatibility with WordPress themes and plugins I've received the following message from "WPEngine's PHP Compatibility Checker":

MYSITE/wp-content/plugins/gp-premium/sections/functions/wpalchemy/MetaBox.php
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FOUND 1 ERROR AFFECTING 1 LINE
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
540 | ERROR | preg_replace() - /e modifier is forbidden in PHP 7.0
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I note that you've already been looking in to this (or similar problem with WP Alchemy) https://github.com/farinspace/wpalchemy/issues/102

Is this something you can patch/fix soon please?
Apart from that little issue everything great!
Thanks in advance :-)

Hi there,

Are you using the latest version of GP Premium? I fixed this way back in Sept of 2015.

Also, the next version of GP Premium doesn't use WP Alchemy anymore, so we can avoid issues like this in the future.

This site is using PHP7 with no issues :)

I believe I have the latest versions installed:
GeneratePress Version: 1.3.39
GP Premium 1.2.89

Strange how this detects an old fault on a new, clean install....

https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/php-compatibility-checker/ this is what I'm using/testing with if you'd like to try it and see the result for yourself.

All the best!

Yep that's the latest.

Best way to check to avoid any false positives is your error_log file.

Either way, it should be a non-issue in GP Premium 1.2.90 :)

Awesome, keep up the good work! :-)

Thanks! :)
