Comments on pages (clarification)

Hello, I'm switching theme on an existing site that has a lot of comments. We use comments on posts and on pages. The ability to leave comments on pages was built into our current theme.
I think things will carry over fine to GP, but want to double-check, the ability to leave a comment on a page in GP... is that now a default on/off feature with Wordpress or is that a GP-added feature?

Comments are handled by WordPress and yes you can enable them on Pages.
Unless your old theme done something unexpected a page with comments should still show when moving theme.
