comment area not showing up

Hello! I have comments enabled in my Discussion settings, and have even tried inserting code on the page.php (<?php comments_template(); ?>) but there is no place for readers to leave commments on my blog. I would like, of course, to have this feature enabled. Any suggestions? Thank you!
If comments are enabled in "Settings > Discussion" but comments aren't showing up, you may have had them disabled when you created your posts/pages.
If that's the case, go to your Posts/Pages page, and click "Quick Edit" over each item. Then check the comments checkbox to allow comments on that page.
