Color Palette for Customizer and Gutenberg Editor

While I like the idea of using generate_default-color_palettes filter, it does not set the colours for use in the Gutenberg Editor.
I have been using the Central Color Palette, however it is not yet Gutenberg ready.
I just found Custom Color Palette for Gutenberg by ThemeZee and am impressed.
I would love to see something like this integrated into GP. i.e. have an option to set colours that can be used to set both theme colours and editor defaults as illustrated in this screenshot below:
- Set some colours (this could be fist setting under colors in customizer)
- Use the colours when customising the theme - for now I had to use the gp filters code :0(
- Colours applied affect the look of the theme
- Same colours can also be used in the editor

Hi there,
The reason we haven't integrated our color palette into the GB palette is due to the format GB uses for colors vs what we're using currently.
We'll get it integrated ASAP, as I think it's super important :)
Thank you!
That's great news indeed! Thanks Tom!
Something like an ability to set 10 or 12 colours (with transparency), option to disable the Color wheel would be great.
Loving the upgrades and testing GP premium WP v5 RC. Works like a charm.
However, I notice that compared to the screenshot about front end styling on your site, when editing a post/page, the layout block is not on the righthand side but in the middle (along with simple CSS text area). Not sure what I am doing wrong?
You can drag the metabox to the right side.
Once 5.0 is out for a little while, we'll move it there permanently :)
Thanks heaps Tom. I am planning to move all my WordPress sites to GP soon (as soon as colours palette is integrated).
Hi
Just wondering if there's any update on when the color palette will be integrated with Gutenberg.
The way Gutenberg handles the colors is different from how we handle them in the Customizer. However, we're hoping to have it done in GP 2.3.
Thanks, looking forward to it!
I am trying to add some colours to the palette for use in Gutenberg. I have tried doing it directly via my child theme following the doc here but the colours don't appear.
I have also tried the plugin mentioned by OP but when I try to set colours it opens the Theme Customiser and a menu entry for it appears briefly before disappearing.
Is there any way for me to populate some colours in the palette until GP does it out-of-the-box?
Never mind. I managed to use the plugin for now. Just can't be opened from the plugin settings. When I opened the Appearance customiser from the regular menu it worked.
Glad to hear you got that resolved, and thanks for sharing how you got it to work.
Any news on the original issue starting this thread?
I like "Central Color Palette" but would prefer to just use GeneratePress for a consistent color palette in the Customizer and the block editor.
Hi Peter,
Not yet, but it's still high on our list of things to do.
Hi Tom,
Would still love to see this as a global setting in customizer - one that would be accessible to the theme, editor and (GeneratePress) blocks
Interesting to read through the history of this request. I'm not really a web designer; I just like to have some control over my WordPress theme. I just moved to GeneratePress and my research brought me here. I may try to use the plugin mentioned above, but would also love to see it integrated into GP. Thanks!
