Code snippet question

I had someone create some code for me to operate on a form.
I THINK the code is php and he instructed me to put the code into the footer.
I am worried that an update to the theme will overwrite this code.
Is there a way to use Code Snippets to implment the code?

Hi Jay,
You can try adding it to Dashboard > Appearance > GP Hooks > wp_footer then it won't be erased during updates.
Let me know if this works.
