Closing Comments on my Blog

Is it possible to quickly close comments under all of my blog posts? How about blog posts where there are some comments? Will these comments disappear if I close the commenting section?
Hi there,
1. In Settings > Discussions - uncheck: Allow people to submit comments on new posts
2. In the Post list - select all Posts, and from the Bulk Actions filter select Edit and Apply, from the meta panel select Comments > Do Not Allow and apply.
Any existing comments on a post will be kept - and followed by a Comments are Closed notice.
