Classic Editor Block

Hi!
I am not sure where to ask this question since I don't know where the "Classic Editor Block" comes from. Is it from the WordPress Core or is it from GeneratePress?
I am (reluctantly) transitioning to Gutenberg. I have previously used the Classic Editor Plugin, but I have now deactivated it. Since that plugin and support for it at some point will be discontinued I thought I might as well try and do without now.
I see there is a "Classic Editor Block" and I wonder what will happen to this Block after the Classic Editor plugin is discontinued? Will it still be possible to use the Classic Editor Block or will the possibility to use WordPress this old way be discontinued altogether? Does anyone know? I have searched for the answer without finding it.
Classic Editor is an official WordPress plugin, and will be fully supported and maintained until at least 2022, or as long as is necessary.

This is completely independent from the plugin you use. :)
Are you wanting to go back to the classic editor?

I have tried the Gutenberg way, but I really really don't like it and when I found this block I was very pleased. But, if this is going to be unusable at some point (even though the plugin and block are not connected) there is really no point in using the block.
Either I have to bite the Gutenberg bullet or switch to another platform.

Samuel, I prefer the Classic Editor yes. Not sure I understand your question though.

although we know the Classic Editor plugin will be unsupported in the future, there is no similar commentary in regards to the Classic Editor Block. As its part of the WordPress Core Blocks ( and is embedded in wordpress.com ) i doubt very much that it will EVER be removed, as it would lead to a lot of broken sites.
To note - any classic editor content will always be converted to a Classic Editor Block, so at least there is a simple transition and you don't have to bite ( all ) the bullet just yet. To note: in the classic editor block you have the option to convert the content to Blocks, which retain any Core Tiny MCE editor styles where supported. So you can experiment with converting to blocks to see how that goes :)
