Child theme css not overriding

I've just created a child theme of the GeneratePress theme and when I add y own css styles nothing happens. What is going on?

Did you get a blank child theme from here? https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-child-theme/#installing-a-child-theme
If so we would need to see the site (without caching plugin) to see what's going on.
