Changing theme name or child theme?

Hi!

I installed themepress and then used the customizer with addons to start my design. But now I'd like to know how to change the theme-name or the output of the theme name in the page source (without losing my settings).

Should I create a child theme and them export the theme options from the customizer? A bit confused on the process here.

Hi there,

Any reason why you want to do this? It will stop you from getting any future updates which isn't recommended at all.

Updates bring new features, bug fixes and security patches.
