Changing Default Sidebar To Content / Sidebar

Hi!

I was wondering if I'd be able to change the Sidebar settings for Blog Posts only to Content/Sidebar. This way, when someone makes a new post, it is set to Content/Sidebar by default and it doesn't need to be changed every time. I was checking out the elements instructions here: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/layout-element-overview/#content-1 and I think I've set it up properly, but I haven't been able to see any changes in the default Sidebar settings when I create a new post.

Let me know if you have any suggestions for implementing this!

Thanks!

Leanne

Hey Leo,

Thanks for the suggestion! I checked it out in the customizer and made sure Content/Sidebar was selected under "Single Post", but this doesn't change the default radio button setting from "Default" to "Content/Sidebar" on new blog posts (it still needs to be manually enabled). Let me know if you need screenshots/login credentials from me and how you typically like those passed along. I'll try inserting a screengrab of the area I want to change: Screenshot

Let me know if you have any other suggestions! Thanks for your help with this!

The screenshot didn't work out. Sorry lol.

Setting the option in the customizer wouldn't change the setting in the layout metabox.

Leaving it to Default is definitely the way to go.

So the customizer setting isn't applying currently?

Have you created any Layout Elements that might be interfering with the customizer setting?

Hi!

It works fine when the setting is changed which is good! I'm just wondering if there is there a way to change the setting in the layout metabox for all posts so we don't have to manually change them from "Default" for each.

Thanks! :)

Leanne

Ahh I see. Unfortunately not.

Default just means it’s inheriting the setting from the customizer :)
