Changing colour of sidebar backgrounds?

Hi,
I'm just wondering if there is any way to change the background colour of just a sidebar (in one container)? I mean the whole sidebar background, not just the widget backgrounds? Thanks!

Hi Paul,
If you change the Background color in Customizer > Colors > Sidebar Widgets then it should change the background color of the entire sidebar.
Can you give that a shot and link me to the page where it's not working?
