[Resolved] Changes to %copy% %current_year% not saved

Hello,

I have a baffling problem with the Copyright area. When I edit this in the Customizer with Layout>Footer>Copyright, the changes show up but when I save it they are lost. Seems like no matter what I try to change, or even delete all the text, it shows only (c) Companyname, Inc. This is not in my custom css either.

I am trying to use
%copy% %current_year% Companyname, Inc.

I even tried to enter the year manually as %copy% 2021 Companyname, Inc.

and it won’t save either.

I deactivated all plugins except GP Premium and this didn’t fix the issue.

Hi there,

That’s strange. Not seeing any obvious reasons.

When something works in the customizer preview but not on live site, it’s generally a caching issue.

Is there any server caching activated?

Any custom functions?

Thanks for your quick reply.

It has the same problem on the staging server, which doesn’t have caching. BUT yes I forgot that years ago I put a copyright in the theme functions file. I don’t know why because I always use the Customizer!

I had a feeling it was something ridiculous on my part.
