I’ve spent the past week rebuilding a site for a non-profit organization to which I belong. And I purchased the full add-on package so I could customize it for my use. Here’s what I did and the problem that resulted.
I entered the text for the header, both headline and tagline, and uploaded the logo. The logo appeared in the header underneath the headline/tagline. But I wanted the logo in the header aligned to the right of the text rather than under it. I could find nowhere in the addon options to put the logo anywhere except under the headline and tagline.
So I created a header panel the size of the original header as a jpeg with the logo to the left and the text to the right of the logo. Then I uploaded my jpeg panel as a logo and it appeared exactly the way I wanted it. Finally, I changed the standard white background color of the content and header areas to a very light blue, saved and published the changes.
When I go into the website as wp-admin, everything looks exactly as I want it with the logo panel at the top and the backgrounds the correct color. However, when I browse directly to the website, not in wp-admin mode, the header panel comes up with the original text above square logo and no color change. I have undone and redone the changes several times, but I cannot see the changes I made unless I am in wp-admin mode.
Is this a bug in the programming? And how do I fix it?
That’s very odd – so when you click the Save & Publish button, does it save? When you leave the Customizer and then come back, the changes are still there? Then when you view the site, the changes aren’t live?
Do you have a link to your website so I can take a look?
Thanks for your speedy reply, Tom. You read my messsage perfectly. And miracle of all miracles, the problem resolved itself after I had added some pages and ran the update of all of them several times.
