Change The New Navigation Search Position
6 replies · Started by Charbel on March 23, 2023
Hello @David,
Hope you are doing well.
I have enabled the new modal Navigation Search as described in the recent announcement:
I deactivated the old one in the Customizer (Customize > Layout > Primary Navigation).
https://generatepress.com/a-new-navigation-search/
Now, when I hit search in my main menu, the search bar is opening down in my footer (screenshot below):

I am wondering if we can change the location of the new search modal, please?
Similar location to the announcement made by @Tom.
Here is my site: https://charbelnemnom.com/
Thank You, David!
Hi Charbel,
It shouldn't be showing there.
Can you try #1 here to debug: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/debugging-tips/
It's recommended to backup your site before proceeding with this.
Hello @Fernando, thanks for your quick support!
Sorry, I cannot debug using the link you shared, this site is in production. I can't do this.
What are alternative options to find about this issue, please?
Please note that if you open any page or post on my site, you will see a new search option in the footer without the need to click on the Search icon in the top main menu.
Why it's showing in the footer?
Thanks!
I think it's a browser caching issue, now it's working!
See below. How can we customize it, color, text, etc?

Thank You!
Hi there,
go to Customizer > Colors --> Search Modal
For the typography you can Add New Typography, set the Target Element to Custom and use the .search-modal-form input class if you want modify the search field typography.
Thank you @David, much appreciated!
You're welcome
