change footer

Hi, I want to change my footer so i created a new footer element. How do I activate the new one, it is just a matter of deleting the old one?

in your Block Element, did you set the Display Rules ?
Yes, besides location I set it to "entire site"
This is the same as the original footer too.
Quick Edit the original Footer, and change its Status to Draft.
Does your new footer display ?
Tried that, it removed part of the original footer but did not update to the new one.
I did see something different though, pls see image link.
Yeah, edit your new Footer, and in the sidebar, select the Element tab, listed there will be a Hook select box, set that to before_footer

Can this section be removed?
If you edit your Block Element, in the Element sidebar, you can change the Element Type from Hook to: Site Footer and then your block element will replace that footer bar.

Just one more issue. Is there a way to prevent the links in the footer from changing to the default colors both on display and hovering? I just want it just to remain white without changing.
Can i see the site ? Then i can advise on the best method for how its been created
