Change font colour - category list block
11 replies · Started by Stuart on February 3, 2023
I'm trying to change the font colour of my category list in my footer.
My footer background is black and so the text needs to be white, however I can't find anyway to change this in the footer.
Also, is it possible to reorder these?
Please advise. Thanks.
Hi Stuart,
Can I see your site?
You can use the private info field for that.
Let me know!
Sure thing, sent. Thank you.
You are using a block element - content template for the archive/blog posts which can be found at appearance > elements > archive cards.
In the block element editor, you will be able to change the color:

You can also find the featured post template at appearance > elements > Featured Articles, click on the block you want to change, and you will see all the available settings on the right side tool bar.
Thanks Ying. Will this definitely change the color of the category list text in the footer? And help me to reorder this list?

I don't see a category list in the site footer, can you point me to where I should be looking at?
It's not visible because it's black letters on a black background - I want to change the font color to white.
oh you mean the category list in the footer, ok, go to appearance > elements > site footer, select the container block which contains the list of cateogries, then you can set the link color to white.
Thanks - however, Categories List, doesn't appear to have an option to change font color. For me at least. Mind uploading a screenshot?
however, Categories List, doesn’t appear to have an option to change font color.
that's correct, it's a WP core block and it doesn't have color options.
that's why I said select the container block which contains the list of categories :)
The original Scribe template doesn't have the category list block, so I can not take a screenshot for your reference.
Thank you Ying!! That's worked.
Glad to hear that :)
