center leightweight social icon in footer widget

Hi i tried to center the leightweight social icon widget in footer with the CSS:

.footer-widgets {
text-align: center;
}

didn't work - then i tried

.footer-widgets .inside-footer-widgets {
text-align: center;
}

for the text widget it worked BUT not for the social icons. why ?
