[Support request] Category pagination not working

Hi,

My category pagination only shows page 1 & 2 – although according to the amount of posts it should have page 5;
and when you click page 2, it shows 404.

I found exactly the same question posted before, but no answer was offered.

Can you try Post Name as the permalink structure to test? This can be done in Settings > Permalinks.

Hi, I tried – it got worse, can’t even find any category page.
So I changed back.

I don’t believe this is a theme issue as the theme does not have any control over permalinks.

Let’s do some proper debugging.

Can you disable the Post navigation block element and test if the default post navigation works correctly?

I disabled the Post navigation block element, and now there’s just no post navigation.

BTW There is a page that displays all the posts from all categories, and the pagination there works.
And the pagination urls have a “?query….” (pls see the private information)

I think it might be the problem – the category paginations are without “?query….” but I don’t know where to fix it.

I just visited the /news page again and am still seeing the post navigation element.

Can you disable that for me to see?

Please also disable all plugins except GP Premium and GeneratBlocks for now.

I just purge the cache the page navigation element should be gone now.

What exactly happened when you changed it to Post Name? Where all archive pages inaccessible? Do you have a staging site where we can do some testing? If so, can you share it, and set the permalink structure to Post Name there?

I see. Can you try changing the slug name of the Categories in Posts > Categories?
