Category page not showing after added . in category base

previously without adding . in category base the category pages were visible by category/categoryname/
i need it directly /categoryname/ i added . category base now bot the urls above show not found how can i make post visible in just /categoryname/
Hi there,
That is handled by WordPress and it should be automatically added once you have posts assigned to categories.
You can view all of them by going to Dashboard > Posts > Categories.
Make sure your posts are published to the public (not draft or private).
