Category archive for custom post type not honouring blog layout settings

Hi, I am displaying a category in my home page related to a custom post type. I have all archive and posts set to display in columns but the category in question still gets displayed as default. Where is that setting coming from and why is that?

I have also used code found here but didn't really change anything.
