Hi Boys and Girls : )
Need a bit of help with the right hand side bar category colour on https://dave-hayes.com please
Currently the background colour is orange
On my Other blog its exactly how I want it
How do I change it, as I have been right the way through the customisation options and started banging my head in frsutration
Thanks In advance for your help
Dave
Hi there,
go to Customizer > Additional CSS and look for this:
.sidebar .widget:first-child, .sidebar .widget:first-child .widget-title {
background-color: #83b0de;
color: #fff;
}
Edit the background color
Thanks David, will try that.I actually prefer it with the white background!!, before I though the orange looked cool, but now I think differently
I appreciate your help.
For my future reference is there anywher I can select global colouts at all please.
Thanks
However, looking at it in the Categories box, I still have the orange colour as the backbround, which is not what I want.
So perhaps I have misunderstood the directions you gave me for that box.
What I want to have is the category box as it is on This Blog
The same on This Blog but when the category box is clicked on This Blog the background colour is orange, which looks not good
For some reason, they are different and I don't know why.
Aah my bad - I misread the topic.
The CSS code only changes the first widget.
The rest of the widgets you set in Customizer > Colors --> Sidebars >>> Background color
Sorry David, I have tried that and it doesn't do anything at all. I'm not sure if I am doing something different on this blog to my other one, but certainly the category box is coming up differently and I can't get the colour to change at all... getting really frustrated
I've even been through the documentation as well, slowly.
Sorry I meant: Customizer > Colors –> Sidebar Widgets - have you changed that?
Yes I have now,
But I still can't get the background colour, when it is clicked to show white, it is stil orange and I can't get the word category to show above the box as it does, very nicely on my other blog, which I am using as a reference and prompt for this blog
I'm really sorry to be a pain in the rear end over something so simple.
Yayyyyyy AT LAST!!!... I rectified it David. I went through each section on the Sidebars Colours settings and under Forms, it was orange, I changed it to white and Boom!... its how I want it to look
I appreciate your help and guidance on this over the past few hours, very very helpful.
Glad to hear you got it resolved.
