Can't Use Global Post Header - Featured Image Replaces It No Matter What I Do

I want to use featured images on posts because I want them to appear on the archive pages. But I don't want them displayed as the header on individual post pages. I set an image for the Global Post Header but I can't get it to display. If I remove the featured image from a post, nothing is displayed.

I had no trouble setting the image for the Blog Page Header, the Global Footer, and the Global Page Headers.

Help!
