Can't upload images

I actually ran into this on a site my wife is making. It's a WordPress bug: https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/40207

There's a plugin fix in that ticket (needs to be manually uploaded), or you can just go to "Media > Add New" and drag your files in to upload them.

Maybe I didn't explain myself well, sorry. I can upload images in the dashboard, but not in the customisation mode.

Anyway, I downloaded the plugin, installed and clean browser... but I still have the same problem. In fact, I realised that the customisation doesn't work properly. Is not just that I can't use the 'select image' buttons when I try to customize...

For example, I try to change the layout to show separate contents, I save and publish. But nothing happens "in the real blog". I see the change in the customisation panel but if I reload that page (or if I open a new window to see how the blog looks) the changes aren't there.

The changes still don't save even if the cache plugin deactivated? I think that's very likely the problem.

Can you try activate the plugin, clear the plugin cache, then try to make changes again? Thanks!
